Labour Products represent the services or tasks provided by the workshop, such as:
- Engine Repair
- Routine Maintenance
- System Inspection
- Accessory Installation
Labour Products may involve consumable materials (parts) or inventory items required to complete the task. This module integrates Labour Products with the Items menu to specify the necessary materials. For example:
- Labour Product: “InnovateBook Series Hinge Replacement”.
- Materials:
- InnovateBook Series Hinge: 1 unit.
- Screws: 4 units.
Using Labour Products helps calculate and track labor costs effectively.
Create a Labour Product
Step 1: Go to the Labour Products menu and click New.
Step 2: A popup titled Add Labour Product will appear. Fill in the following details:
- Code: Enter a unique code for the Labour Product.
- Name: Enter the name of the Labour Product (e.g., “Engine Oil Change”).
- Category: Select a category for the Labour Product.
- Standard Time (Hours): Enter the standard time required to complete the service.
- Tax1: Select Tax 1 (if applicable).
- Tax2: Select Tax 2 (if applicable).
- Rate Type: Choose one of the following options:
- Fixed Price: A fixed service price, not based on time. For example:
- Fixed Price = $1200.
- A Repair Job with this Labour Product is estimated to take 2 hours.
- Estimated Labour Subtotal = Fixed Price = $1200.
- Labour Rate (Hour(s): A labor rate per hour. For example:
- Labour Rate = $300/hour.
- A Repair Job with this Labour Product is estimated to take 2 hours.
- Estimated Labour Subtotal = 300×2=300×2=600.
- Rate: Enter the fixed service price or hourly labor rate.
- Description: Enter a general description of the Labour Product.
Step 3: After entering all the necessary information, click the Save button.
Step 4: Add Materials to the Labour Product: Go to the Labour Product Detail page and add the required parts/materials for the Labour Product.
Step 5: Click New → Select the material from the Items list and enter the required quantity.
